Fall Colors :: Riverway Park, Longwood

November 18, 2017

I dragged my lazy self out of bed early morning for an experiment at Longwood Medical Area today. I was originally feeling a bit grumpy without my usual Saturday sleep-in. However, all my negative thoughts cleared after I unexpectedly chanced upon the beautiful fall colors at Riverway while waiting for the subway at Longwood Station.
Riverway is a beautiful park designed by the famous landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted. It follows the meandering path of the Muddy River and spans between Boston and Brookline.
I was captivated by the reflections of autumn colors, bending bushes and clouds in the river - these moments of complete stillness present valuable opportunities for meditative experiences.
The Riverway is also home to many beautiful bridges. I love how this bridge arches over the scenic view of the bending trees.
Today's beautiful encounter at Riverway reminded me that the best things in life are sometimes unexpected and a seemingly bad situation may not be so bad after all if you are able to see the bright side. 🙂
